Terlato Wine Group has appointed Salvatore Napolitano to the newly created role of executive managing director for its Italian portfolio, the company announced September 17.

Based in New York City, Napolitano will report to vice president of sales Tony Terlato II. A native of Naples, Italy, he has spent two decades building Italian fine wines in the United States, including executive roles at Banville Wine Merchants and Palm Bay International.

The appointment puts a dedicated leader over a wide Italian range spanning producers including Alta Mora, Castello di Bolgheri, Cecchi, Cusumano, Feudi di San Gregorio, Il Poggione, Nino Franco and Riondo, alongside Distillatorio Nonino, San Benedetto mineral water and the Bene mixer line. The total Terlato portfolio grew 4 percent to 1.9 million cases in the United States last year, according to Impact Databank.
